Former Boston Celtics lead owner and Governor Wyc Grousbeck reportedly has a new home to hang his hat in.

The New York Post reports via anonymous source that Grousbeck dropped $58 million on a palatial contemporary-style home in the luxe Hamptons enclave of Bridgehampton. 165 Surfside Drive is an eight-bed, nine-bath (eight full, one half) mansion measuring 8,600 square feet that boasts 125 feet of direct ocean frontage, according to the listing. Built in 2024, the house sits on a 1.5-acre lot that includes white sandy beaches and stunning views of the Atlantic.

Step inside the home, and you’ll find Fleetwood floor-to-ceiling glass windows and doors. The space features an open concept, overflowing with natural light and embracing the indoor/outdoor living aesthetic. In the kitchen, there’s top-of-the-line appliances, custom Cuiffo cabinetry, a large center island, and a glass-enclosed wine cabinet. A secondary chef’s kitchen is ideal for entertaining, while a large pantry provides plenty of storage.

The first level also features a primary en-suite with a large dressing room and sliding doors that open onto the poolside terrace. In the spa-like primary bath, you’ll find dual vanities, a glass-enclosed shower, a soaking tub, and a water closet. There’s also a media room and a formal dining room.

A floating staircase leads upstairs to the second level. The home features seven en-suites, each of which has access to a shared terrace. A primary en-suite on the second level is a crown jewel of the home, boasting two walk-in closets, an office, and a luxurious five-fixture bathroom.

The expansive 4,476-square-foot roof deck, which is reachable by elevator, is a unique feature of the home. There, you’ll find the rooftop putting green, a spa, a built-in bar, and a pergola-covered dining and entertaining area. Back on the main level, head outside to the heated gunite pool and spa. Follow the private boardwalk leads down to the beach.

Grousbeck got the home at a discount: Its original asking price was $79.99 million, according to previous listings.

Compass broker Richard Steinberg, who represented the buyer in the transaction, declined to comment. The seller of the property, developer Joe Farrell, did not respond to Boston.com’s request for comment.

Bill Chisholm agreed in March to pay a then-record $6.1 billion to buy the Celtics, Boston.com previously reported.
