Gary Neville drops huge Leeds United prediction after Chelsea result
Gary Neville was speaking on Leeds’ win over Chelsea midweek, and observed how physical the team played in the match. According to him, the Whites made Enzo Maresca’s side look like ”little boys”:
”This league has become more and more physical over this last two or three years it’s gone back 15 20 years in respect of the size of the players the set pieces the balls into the box the long balls forward the throw-ins
”Everything is now demanding aerial duels to be won and physicality and aggression. I think that tonight, they played a team of men and Chelsea will look like little boys out there against them.”
Neville then gave his prediction on what he thinks will happen when Liverpool come to visit this weekend. He believes the midweek performance could be a catalyst for the rest of the season.
”Saturday is going to be interesting. Can Leeds go again? They’ll be confident.
”They’ll be really sort of have good belief. But physically, can they go again at that sort of frantic pace that they set at times in that game last night?
”And you know, obviously Liverpool, what’s happened to Liverpool is is a mystery from what we saw last season.
”I enjoyed last night’s game as a spectacle. I thought it was really surprising watching Leeds play how they did and hurt Chelsea as much as they did. And it’ll give them a feeling that, we can get out. We can stay in this league and we can push up the table.”
Liverpool are there for the taking
Arne Slot’s side are not in the best of form; the Reds have won one game in their last five. That victory came against West Ham, who are arguably one of the worst teams in the Premier League this season.
Playing in front of the Elland Road crowd off the back of a huge victory over Chelsea midweek could be the exact kind of motivation the team needs to pull off another upset this weekend. Hopefully Farke can get the tactics right to guide his team to another huge win.
