Having been arguably the [Black Cats](http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/football/sunderland?ref=au)' best player in Wednesday's 1-1 draw at Liverpool, left-back Reinildo Mandava is unavailable and does not feature in the squad at the Etihad Stadium.
As a result, Lutsharel Geertruida steps into the starting XI, with the Dutchman expected to start at centre-half with Omar Alderete moving across to left-back.
Le Bris has made two other changes to the side that started the midweek draw at Anfield.
Bertrand Traore returns to the starting line-up, having been a substitute in midweek, with Sunderland's goalscorer against Liverpool, Chemsdine Talbi, dropping down to the bench.
Wilson Isidor is also back in the side to face City, with Brian Brobbey on the bench after starting against Liverpool.
Le Bris has named both Granit Xhaka and Noah Sadiki in his starting side, despite both players being just one booking away from a suspension that would rule them out of next weekend's Wear-Tyne derby with Newcastle.
