Kim: “We all know Liv has got that in her locker!”

Olivia Smith’s stunning goal against Liverpool came as no surprise to Kim Little, who has seen her pull off such a strike a number of times before.

Reminiscent of her debut goal in our 4-1 win over London City Lionesses in September, Smith got us up and running with a fantatic effort from distance.

“We all know Liv has got that in her locker, and we can isolate her one-versus-one to get herself into those situations wide and central,” our club captain explained.

“You’re going to get a goal at some point, so yes it was a great strike from her to get the team under way.

“We hard to work hard in the end. I think we obviously started the game well, went one-nil up and just kind of let it slip a little bit in the first half but I thought we came together again at half-time and I thought we all started that second half really well and then, you know, we had players coming on like Stina, especially to score the winning goal.

“I think we are just pleased to have all three points.”

Report: Arsenal Women 2-1 Liverpool](https://www.arsenal.com/fixture/women/2025-Dec-06/women-liverpool-women-match-report?utm_source=arsenaldotcom&utm_medium=embedded-article&utm_campaign=news)

Stina Blackstenius, on as a second-half substitute, made the impact with our winning goal as she took down a long ball over the top from Emily Fox before swivelling and smashing it into the top right corner.

“I thought she was great when she came on, she had a number of chances, I think she probably should have had another opportunity with an offside and of course in the right moment she finished it with a great strike to put us one up, then I thought after that we ended the game really well,” Kim added.

Asked how much she enjoyed being back out on the pitch after returning from injury, and turning attention to Tuesday’s UEFA Women’s Champions League clash with FC Twente, Kim said: “It was obviously nice to get on the pitch and to be here back in front of the fans, of course its always an absolute pleasure to be on the pitch.

“It’s a tight schedule the next two weeks leading up to Christmas, our main focus is on the next game in the Champions League, and then back to the league, our aim is to get five wins [in December], so yeah I think we’ll get another one on Tuesday.”
