Andy’s Player Ratings: Man City 3-0 Sunderland – Rare Off Day as Lads Fall To City

Robin Roefs: 7/10

Couldn’t do anything about any of the goals but made a couple of good saves and used the ball well when we were in possession.

Trai Hume**: 5/10**

Had to start on the left today due to Reinildo’s absence and struggled, got done multiple times by a bit of skill or selling himself short when trying to step in to intercept.

Nordi Mukiele: 6/10

Did OK against the tricky Doku, despite the City winger coming out on top.

Dan Ballard: 7/10

Despite the score line, I thought Ballard did well today. Handled Haaland really well and threw himself at anything coming his way, unfortunately that includes for the opening goal when the shot deflected in off him.

Omar Alderete: 6/10

Got beat too easily by Cherki once or twice in the box but defended well enough otherwise.

Lutsharel Geertruida: 7/10

Was good on the ball today, usually finding a red and white shirt and slotted into midfield when Sadiki and Xhaka went off. Cleared a Haaland effort off the line and had a chance to set up Adingra for a potential goal but under hit his pass.

Granit Xhaka (C): 7/10

Competed well in front of the back five and so unlucky not to score when he smashed the base of the post when the game was still alive.

Noah Sadiki: 6/10

A bit quiet today, plenty of closing down and getting here, there and everywhere to support attacks but the yellow card peril was possibly effecting him.

Bertrand Traore: 5/10

Did well once in the first half to cut into central midfield and play a ball wide to Le Fee, despite being fouled but that was about it from him today.

Enzo Le Fee: 6/10

Cut inside following a Traore pass in the first half and struck an effort into the side netting, played some nice balls to teammates despite being under pressure but had a hand in the red card due to his pass not having enough pace on it.

Wilson Isidor: 6/10

Plenty of effort and got one absolute clear chance but was unable to take it, won the ball back himself inside the opposition D but took the shot on a bit too quickly and Donnarumma saved it.

Substitutes

Brian Brobbey**: 5/10**

Came on with the game getting away with us and the ball seemed to bounce off him.

Chemsdine Talbi: 6/10

Injected a bit of pace down the wings.

Simon Adingra: 6/10

Didn’t get much chance to impress other than one instance where he got the ball in space and put a dangerous cross in that was cleared.

Romaine Mundle: 6/10

Was lively after coming on but put far too much pace on a shot and a cross when he could have been more considered with both.

Luke O’Nien: 5/10

Replaced Hume on the left but got himself sent off for a late lunge when attempting to get something on a under hit pass from Le Fee.

Man of the Match: Dan Ballard

Dan Ballard was handed a big test today, directly up against the Premier League’s top goalscorer and although the score line would suggest otherwise, Ballard came out on top in that particular battle.
