“Probably Chelsea’s standout performer in a difficult game. Hit the post with a header and nearly scored again when he fired just wide.”
The Sun weren’t as positive, they gave him just a 5/10 and this review:
“After a quiet first half, which involved plenty of running but not much productivity, Garnacho struck the post early in the second half with a header.”
The Chelsea Chronicle found the middle ground with a 6/10:
“In a mostly flat Chelsea performance, Garnacho’s energy levels never dropped. He hit the post early in the second half, but couldn’t get much else going.
Still, he looked the most frustrated with the lacklustre display from his team — no attitude problems since arriving at Stamford Bridge.”
We’d agree with all that – he was the best of our attacking players, but that’s not really saying much.
In other news…
If you really dig deep you can find one positive from the game – our defensive partnership managed to keep a clean sheet, continuing to cement the Chalobah – Fofana duo as the best we’ve got.
Cole Palmer’s return was supposed to spark something, but the attacking midfielder actually ended up featuring in our first 0-0 since the opening day of the season. His stats weren’t great, although his rating was good.
