Arsenal have made a strong move to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, according to French outlet Le 10 Sport.
The 23-year-old is one of the best wingers in French football, but his future with Les Parisiens is uncertain amid an ongoing contract stand-off.
The Ligue 1 giants have been negotiating with the player’s entourage for some time, but he is not convinced to pen a new long-term deal.
If the impasse continues, the Frenchman could pursue a new challenge away from Luis Enrique’s side during next summer’s transfer window.
Liverpool are ‘very active’ in the pursuit of Barcola, but Le 10 Sport claim that the Gunners have made a ‘strong move’ to try and entice the winger.
Barcola would be a brilliant acquisition for the left-wing role
The former Lyon graduate had a fantastic 2024/25 season with Les Parisiens. He registered 21 goals and 21 assists from 64 appearances in all competitions. He averaged 61 minutes per outing.
He has carried his form over to the ongoing campaign with eight goal contributions from 17 games, but the left-sided winger has been an unused substitute in two of the last four league games.
The lack of consistent playing time could be a reason behind his frustration. Barcola is entering the prime of his career and may want the assurance of a consistent starting role with another club.
Arsenal could be a tempting destination for him. Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli are presently the specialist left wingers in the squad, but one of them could be sold when the season concludes.
Trossard secured a pay rise last summer, but his contract still expires in June 2027. There is a genuine possibility that the Belgian could be permitted to pursue a new challenge next season.
Barcola would be a fantastic signing to replace him. Aside from his goal involvements, he has caught the eye with his dribbling, high pressing and fantastic positioning from a wide attacking role.
He can operate on either wing, but he is most comfortable from the left. Barcola is valued at £61 million by Transfermarkt. For a similar fee, he would be a no-brainer signing for Arsenal next summer.
