Viktor Gyokeres gave his thoughts on a 2-1 defeat for **Arsenal**against Aston Villa.
The summer signing stepped onto the field at Villa Park at half time as a replacement for Mikel Merino, who struggled to assert himself before the break. He watched Leandro Trossard take a chance from close range to level the score, but the Swede was often second best in his battles with Ezri Konsa and as the Villans turned the screw, Emiliano Buendia bagged a winner in injury time.
Gyokeres continues to try and gain his sharpness after he suffered an injury against **Burnley**at Turf Moor at the start of November, having made his return at the end of the month. Now, the team will try to get back to winning ways against Club Brugge in the Champions League before their contest with **Wolves**next weekend, and the league leaders know that they cannot allow the heads to drop.
“We are of course disappointed with the result. It's not a great feeling right now, but it's only December and there are a lot of games to play. You can always find some positives, but it's still a very difficult way to lose a game. It's tough right now, but we'll look forward to the next one soon.
“We have to keep creating chances and get shots on goal because then you'll eventually score more goals. So yes, that's of course a positive and we just need to do things in between also a bit better.
“It's football. If you score in the last few seconds or minutes, that is an unbelievable feeling, so it goes both ways. Today, unfortunately, it was the other way. It's tough, but you learn from it. If we focus on what we can control and do in our favour and focus on the next game, we'll be better, I think.”
