Senesi and Petrovic impressive as Cherries held by Chelsea: Player ratings

Andoni Iraola was forced to be creative with his team, particularly in midfield and down the right, but his selections stepped up and Bournemouth put in an improved performance.

The Daily Echo rates the Cherries in the goalless draw at Dean Court.

**Djordje Petrovic: 8**

A good performance from the Serbian. Four saves made and he commanded his area well.

**Adrien Truffert: 6**

The left back was solid and kept Pedro Neto largely quiet on the Cherries left and he had his moments going forward. Neto was Chelsea’s brightest threat throughout the game, though, and did manage to create a couple of openings.

**Marcos Senesi: 8**

An excellent performance from the Argentine, who was a colossus at the back. The Cherries will be hoping the injury that forced him off is not serious and he’ll be back for the trip to Manchester United.

**Bafode Diakite: 6**

A good showing from the Frenchman alongside Senesi but he had a couple of wayward passes out from the back. Defensively, he looked strong next to the Argentine.

**Adam Smith: 7**

The skipper kept Alejandro Garnacho very quiet and it was a very mature performance at right back from Smith.

**Alex Scott: 8**

Scott was very good in midfield in Tyler Adams’ absence. He advanced the ball well out from the back, and did well breaking up play to disrupt the visitors.

**Marcus Tavernier: 7**

Playing out of position, Tavernier was good and did well, like Scott, to bring the ball out of midfield and into attack.

**Antoine Semenyo: 7**

The Ghanaian had the Cherries best chances and was denied well by Robert Sanchez on a couple of occasions. He had a goal disallowed after Evanilson was just offside after four minutes.

**Justin Kluivert: 7**

The Dutchman, too, was good – he was energetic in the Cherries press and created some good openings. An encouraging performance.

**Alex Jimenez: 7**

I was impressed with Jimenez as he played further up the field than usual at right wing. He looked a threat going forward, and his defensive work-rate was top in the Cherries press.

**Evanilson: 6**

A decent showing from the Brazilian – but he missed a good chance from a Semenyo shot that was saved by Sanchez. Evanilson needs a goal after just one all season, but his all-round play brings a lot to the Cherries team, which was demonstrated today in his pressing.

**Substitutes:**

**James Hill: 6**

**Amine Adli: 6**

**David Brooks: 6**

**Enes Unal: N/A**
