In one journalist review of Chelsea’s 0-0 draw with Bournemouth yesterday, their top four push is now being questioned.
It was only a couple of weeks ago that many were touting Chelsea for title contenders again this season after some good form and big wins against the likes of Barcelona.

But they have now been poor on their last two games, a 3-1 defeat against Leeds United in the week, and only managing a draw yesterday.
Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola believes that his team deserved to get all three points as well yesterday, seeing as they did have a goal ruled out as well.
And former Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, who is of course Bournemouth’s number one now, was quite pleased with the point and performance from his new team yesterday, which tells you all you need to know really. It’s Chelsea who will be left the most frustrated and disappointed by this result.
The Daily Mail’s review
Kieran Gill of The Daily Mail has put his review of the game out, with some interesting key points raised.
Gill was speaking about another injury for Liam Delap and questioning Chelsea’s number 9 curse.
He said:
“Whoever leads the line from now on, they need service, and one reason why Chelsea struggled here was their wingers failed to inject any creativity into this contest.”

Bournemouth won midfield battle
Gill continued:
“Bournemouth won the midfield battle regardless with Reece James and Enzo Fernandez unable to take hold of this match. Iraola’s side certainly made use of the Caicedo-shaped hole in their opponents’ set-up.”
Chelsea’s top four challenge questioned
Gill concluded in his report:
“Chelsea put in stellar performances against Barcelona and Arsenal, but have now disappointed in back-to-back trips to Leeds and Bournemouth.
“Whereas previously they were being talked up as potential title contenders in the Premier League, now that conversation is drifting towards whether they are consistent enough to stay on course in their top-four push.”
