Chelsea announce involvement in pre-season super cup for next year

Chelsea have recently announced plans for their involvement in a super cup for pre-season in the summer of 2026.

It seems weird to be thinking about or talking about next season already, seeing as we aren’t even yet halfway into this season yet. But clubs need to and will be making their plans in advance, especially when it comes to pre-season scheduling and where they will be heading and what games they will be looking to play in.

Chelsea’s players will look forward to an actual break next summer, seeing as they didn’t really get much of one in the summer of 2025 due to our involvement in the Club World Cup and of course, going so far in the competition and on to win it, meaning we ended up playing games all through summer.

But the pre-season tour as such will always be one that players and fans will look forward to, especially if you are a global fan and don’t get to watch Chelsea live. Those Chelsea fans in Sydney for example, may now get that chance.

As per the Chelsea website over the weekend, Chelsea Football Club today announces that Chelsea FC and Chelsea FC Women will be playing in the 2026 Sydney Super Cup next summer.

Both teams will be flying out to Sydney to take part in a competition held over two weeks across July and August next year.

The Men’s side will be taking on Tottenham for the first time ever outside of the UK, as well as Western Sydney Wanderers.
