Gabriel Martinelli, Ben White and Ethan Nwaneri are all reportedly potential sales in the upcoming window, if the Gunners were to receive the right bids for the trio. If the Gunners were to sell the three, they would need to find replacements.
A Brazilian winger, who could replace Martinelli, has revealed that he has always wanted to play for Arsenal, and that the move has been his long term dream.
Zenit winger Henrique ‘dreams’ of Arsenal move
Luiz Henrique moved from Brazilian side Botafogo to Zenit St Petersburg in the last January transfer window for a fee of £31m. He has made 11 international appearances for Brazil, and has so far scored three goals, and provided six assists in 32 games for Zenit.
However, in a recent interview with Brazilian media outlet Globo Esporte, the 24-year-old has revealed that whilst he is happy at Zenit, his dream is to play in the Premier League for Arsenal.
He said: “I want to fulfil my contract here at Zenit, but I have dreams of playing for a team in England and playing in the Champions League.
“Since I was a kid, my dream has always been to play in England. There’s a team there that I like a lot, which is Arsenal. But, as I said, I want to fulfil my contract first.”
He was also asked about the possibility of returning to boyhood club Botafogo, but remained loyal to Zenit for now. “I can’t talk about that [returning to Botafogo],” Henrique added, “because I’m at Zenit and I want to do a good job here. It’s a club with great structure, and I want to make history and win titles. For now, I’m going to keep the Botafogo fans curious. I can’t say if I’m coming back now.”
