Everton sent out a statement of intent when they appointed Carlo Ancelotti in December 2019, and he enjoyed a relatively productive 18 months on Merseyside.
Carlo Ancelotti guided Everton to a mid-table finish in his first season, which was a decent achievement considering he took over from Marco Silva’s struggling side.
In his first full season, the Toffees went one better and finished in the top 10, just a few points adrift from Europe.
Ancelotti’s reputation among the supporters took a big knock when he left for Real at the end of the year, but in recent times, it seems as though the respect and admiration has been restored.
Now, the Brazil manager has just heaped praise on David Moyes in a recent interview and spoke about the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Ancelotti has been speaking to Ally McCoist on TNT Sports, and he was asked about how he found his time at Everton.
The 66-year-old admitted he has really fond memories of Merseyside and wants to come back to support the club at the new stadium.
“I loved the period at Everton,” Ancelotti explained.

Carlo Ancelotti explains why he had to leave Everton
Ancelotti spoke to the Rest Is Football podcast last month and explained that he had to leave Everton because he simply couldn’t turn down the Real Madrid job.
“I had a good feeling at Everton,” the former Toffees boss said.
“I was really happy at Everton. Also, if we had different team difficulties, but I think the start of that season was really good for Everton.
“And I was happy at Everton, honestly. Good atmosphere, good training ground, good people. But I couldn’t say no to Real Madrid.”
Clearly, Ancelotti still thinks of Everton so highly, so when he does make a return to support Moyes’ side, the fans will likely give him a big cheer, which perhaps wouldn’t have been the case a few years ago.
