Former PL defender Gary Neville has told Arsenal fans not to panic after losing 2-1 to Aston Villa over the weekend.
The Gunners tasted defeat for the first time since September on Saturday afternoon, blowing the Premier League title race wide open. Aston Villa won 2-1 at Villa Park, allowing Manchester City to close the gap to Arsenal to just two points heading into next weekend.

Many have begun to suggest that Arsenal are already showing signs of ‘bottling’ the title race, but they still lead at the top of the Premier League table, and remain the favourites moving forward.
Former Man United full-back Gary Neville said on Sky Sports that Arsenal fans shouldn’t panic after the result on Saturday. He said: “That’s a game you can lose, I think they [Arsenal] did okay in the game, but Villa played really well.
“I wouldn’t be panicking at all if I was Arsenal off the back of that. You’re going to lose a game or two. They could sit there tonight and look at Manchester City a couple of points off them, but they’ve had a tough week. Chelsea away, Villa away, you could argue it’s been Arsenal’s toughest week of the season.
“For Arsenal, no panic, it’s a game you can lose. Don’t dismiss it and don’t think everything is okay, but on the other hand, don’t think about it too much as being a bigger thing than it is because sometimes you just lose football matches that are competitive against good teams.”
Arsenal remain favourites to win the league
With a two-point lead over Manchester City, Mikel Arteta‘s side remain very much in control of their own destiny in the Premier League, and the bookmakers still see the Gunners as comfortable favourites to win the league title for the first time since 2003/04.
According to Oddschecker, the Gunners are backed to win the league at odds of 8/11, giving them a 57.9% chance to lift the trophy come the end of the season.
Manchester City are the second-favourites, as they are backed at 19/10 (34.5%), and Aston Villa have moved up to third favourites, as they are backed at odds of 33/1 (2.9%).
