‘I’m so happy for him’: Dewsbury-Hall Praises Barry After Scoring First Everton Goal

Everton midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has praised striker Thierno Barry following his goal on Saturday.

Barry finally got himself on the scoresheet for the Blues in an emphatic 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

It’s been a challenging start to life on Merseyside for the young Frenchman. Indeed, it has taken 15 league games for the 23-year-old to find the net.

However, the summer signing has been making clear progress in recent weeks. His movement and link up play have significantly improved, and he’s been getting in the right positions.

The youngster was visibly relieved to get his first goal in blue, and teammate Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was full of praise for the forward.

He said: “I’m so happy for him. I think it’s probably one of the loudest you’ve heard the stadium all season, and he deserves that.

“The last five or so games, he’s absolutely worked his nuts off for us, he works all the time, and you deserve good rewards when you work hard.

“Hopefully now that can kick-start him when he can go on and score as many as he wants.”

BARRY GOAL A HUGE BOOST. HIS HARD WORK PAID OFF – HOPEFULLY HE CAN NOW KICK ON

Barry scored the second of Everton’s three goals against Sean Dyche’s Nottingham Forest.

It was a dream start to the game, with a teasing Dewsbury-Hall cross turned into his own net by Nikola Milenkovic inside two minutes.

Everton continued to dominate, and doubled the lead just before the interval. A quick Iliman Ndiaye counter attack was finished coolly by Thierno Barry, who passed the ball into the net.

Dewsbury-Hall dictated the pace of the game throughout, and scored his third goal in five games with ten minutes remaining.

Barry’s goal came with his 19th shot in an Everton shirt, and his second on target. Hopefully now the lad can kick on and show what he can do.
