Speaking on Radio Estadio Noche, Fernando Burgos questioned the preparation and direction of the team under Xabi Alonso following Madrid’s continued failure to win in La Liga.
Burgos criticized the team’s training load heading into the match: “Giving two days off after the match at San Mamés and preparing this game with only one training session… I think Xabi Alonso’s credit is running out.” With pressure mounting, Burgos suggested such decisions are becoming harder to justify.
The performance itself reinforced his concerns. “What happened today for Madrid is a heavy blow; football was completely absent.” Madrid did not control the tempo, did not create sustained danger, and once again looked like a team drifting without clear solutions.
