Everton will host Sunderland in FA Cup Third Round

Everton have been drawn at home against Sunderland in their FA Cup Third Round clash. The Blues’ game at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium will be played on the weekend of Saturday 10th January, with television considerations determining the kickoff time and day. The Blues are at home against bottom side Wolves the previous Wednesday, and will be away at Aston Villa the following weekend.

60 years ago in January, in the 3rd round of the FA Cup, Everton won 3-0 against Sunderland and went on to win the Cup that year.

More recently, the two sides met in the quarter finals of this competition in March 2012 with David Moyes in the Goodison dugout as the two sides fought to a 1-1 draw, and the Blues then winning the replay away at the Black Cats.
