Enzo Maresca defends Chelsea’s away form and points towards busy schedule

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has been defending Chelsea’s away form and has pointed towards the busy schedule.

Of course the busy schedule has become a big issue in football but not just for Chelsea, for all the top clubs.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea have THREE Premier League centre midfielders on the radar – two they would LOVE to sign!

Unfortunately, as in life, greed has taken over completely in football these days and the players are just forced to play as much as possible to make sure they are playing in all competitions that are available, making big bosses more and more money, as well as the club, and eventually the players too of course. They all get paid very well.

Chelsea played in the Club World Cup of course over the summer, which hasn’t really helped with fatigue amongst the squad due to not really getting a proper break in the summer time like many other clubs got.

They are humans at the end of the day and not robots. They do need to rest.

Speaking ahead of Chelsea’s next game in the Champions League tonight, which is away to Atalanta from Serie A in Italy, Maresca said:

“In terms of playing away, we were more points away than at home in the Premier League. In the Champions League, as you said, we played two games, we drew and lost, but in the end I think it’s always things that balance out a bit at the end of the season.

“As far as away games are concerned, I’m not saying we’re used to it, because it’s hard to get used to, but not just away games, because there’s no time between one game and the other. We played two days ago, we played two days before, but we’re trying to adapt.”
