According to Record Portugal, the Portuguese winger has suffered a fracture to his foot, and is now set for a spell on the sidelines.
The report goes on to say that the youngster could be about to miss as much as two months of action at a critical time of the season for Sporting.
They currently sit second in the league, five points behind Porto, and will also be looking to build on an impressive start in the Champions League. They are currently eighth in the table, on the same amount of points as Chelsea.
The Blues are looking for another three points today against Atalanta, while Sporting face the tricky prospect of facing Bayern Munich without Quenda available.

Quenda set to strengthen Chelsea’s wide areas
Chelsea are not planning to loan out Quenda when he arrives, meaning he will be going straight into Enzo Maresca’s plans in West London.
With Chelsea looking to move Estevao Willian to the number 10 role, there are thoughts that his future teammate could find it easier to make his way into the starting side.

Maresca will also have been delighted to see Quenda featuring on the left-wing recently, a position which on paper looks easier to slot into at Chelsea.
The Blues currently have Alejandro Garnacho and Jamie Gittens there, while Estevao and Pedro Neto battle it out on the right.
