Everton ensured that it was a disappointing return to the blue half of Merseyside at the weekend for former manager Sean Dyche.
Dyche’s Nottingham Forest were beaten 3-0 by Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium, and the away side simply could not deal with the Toffees.
Thierno Barry scored his first goal for David Moyes’ side since making the summer move from Villarreal, ending a barren streak that had spanned 16 games.
Barry’s cool finish was sandwiched in the middle of a Nikola Milenkovic own goal and a late Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall strike, as Everton cruised to victory.

Sean Dyche issue has emerged after Everton loss
Dyche came in at Forest following the disastrous tenure of Ange Postecoglou, and the former Toffees boss has undoubtedly had a positive impact at the City Ground overall.
MORE TOFFEES STORIES
The Tricky Trees have won four of their last six in all competitions, and have climbed out of the Premier League relegation zone under the guidance of their new manager.
However, Speaking on the Totally Football Show, Nottingham Forest fan and iPaper journalist Daniel Storey highlighted that the Trentside outfit’s away form under Dyche is already becoming an issue.
He said: “Three of Forest’s four worst performances this season, Bournemouth away, Brighton away and Everton away, have come under Dyche.
“West Ham at home is the other in that sequence. That’s a problem and will put a ceiling on where Forest can get to in the league.”
Everton fans will remembers Sean Dyche’s away record
Everton fans will be well aware of the issues that Dyche has had away from home in the Premier League.
In the entirety of his two year spell at Goodison Park, Dyche guided the Toffees to just seven away wins in 38 games.
The 54-year-old had an overall win percentage of 27.4 per cent in the Premier League, but that dropped to just 18 per cent on the Merseyside outfit’s travels.
Dyche did a good job of steadying the ship at Everton during a period of financial uncertainty, but during his final six months in charge the wheels started to fall off, especially away from home.
Moyes has completely transformed Everton’s fortunes away from Hill Dickinson Stadium, and in the Premier League this season his side already have three wins from seven games on their travels.
