'I would love to': Harrison Armstrong finally breaks his silence on possible Everton recall…

Everton midfielder Harrison Armstrong has been impressing again out on loan with Preston North End, but that may soon come to an end.

David Moyes finds himself set for more selection headaches over the coming weeks as Idrissa Gana Gueye prepares for his final game before the Africa Cup of Nations.

There were no issues for Everton at the weekend in their convincing victory over Sean Dyche’s Nottingham Forest.

However, Moyes wants Everton to push for Europe this season, and to do that they are going to need a squad full of depth and quality.

The coming weeks are going to test the Blues, with both Gueye and Iliman Ndiaye departing for international duty.

Moyes admitted he’ll consider recalling Armstrong, but the 18-year-old midfielder has now shared his own thoughts on what may lie ahead in January.

Last week, Paul Heckingbottom said that Armstrong was happy at Preston, where he is able to play regular football.

However, the Toffees may well need to bring him back given Merlin Rohl’s injury setback, which has their options limited.

“Well, I think it’s out of my hands. Whatever decision is made I just hope it’s for the best for my development and I would love to stay here and contribute to the team and hopefully we can get in amongst the play-offs,” said the Everton loanee.

“I’m just leaving it in the hands of the people who control it.”

Preston fans have been blown away by Armstrong, who even scored his first goal for the Lilywhites at the weekend.

It has been another perfect loan move for the 18-year-old and it appears he would be more than happy to remain at Deepdale for the remainder of the season.

Everton News columnist Alan Myers expects Everton to eye a new midfielder when the market opens next month.

This may well ease the pressure on potentially bringing back the 18-year-old from Lancashire.

Armstrong has only just returned from injury, which saw him come off the bench at the weekend to earn Preston a draw against Wrexham.

The youngster has been heavily involved all season under Paul Heckingbottom, who has been so impressed with Armstrong.

A big decision lies ahead for Everton, as Armstrong has now insinuated his belief that remaining out on loan may be the best option for his development.
