Leeds 3-3 Liverpool: Match Review and Mo Salah bombshell
Liverpool have called up the duo amid Mo Salah’s squad omission and absences to Cody Gakpo, Federico Chiesa and Wataru Endo.
Liverpool have added two new players to their Champions League squad as they prepare to face Inter Milan at the San Siro on Tuesday night.
With Jeremie Frimpong (hamstring), Giovanni Leoni (ACL) and Jayden Danns (hamstring) all on the treatment table, Slot has opted to hand a call-up to Wellity Lucky. The centre-back has made 13 appearances for the under-21s and under-19s this season. He made his Liverpool first-team debut off the bench in a 3-0 Carabao Cup loss to Crystal Palace in October. Lucky has represented both England and Spain at youth level. The Reds confirmed that the 19-year-old was part of their travelling squad.
The teenager features on Liverpool’s squad List B. UEFA permit that clubs can add ‘any player who is born on, or after, 1 January 2004 and has since had his 15th birthday, been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years or a total of three consecutive years with a maximum of one loan period to a club from the same association for a period not longer than one year’ to List B no later than 23.00 GMT before each European match.
In addition, Kieran Morrison has also been added to Liverpool’s List B. The versatile forward, 19, was handed a full debut in the Palace loss as he played for 67 minutes. Across youth-team level, Morrison has recorded two goals and four assists in 12 appearances this campaign. He has operated in numerous positions. The Northern Ireland under-21 international was also on the bench for the Reds’ 3-2 Premier League defeat by Brentford earlier in the campaign.
Calvin Ramsay, who has been on the bench in the Premier League this season, cannot feature on List B as he is aged 22.
