Mohamed Salah breaks social media silence after Liverpool axe and Jamie Carragher rant

Mohamed Salah has taken to social media after being axed from the Liverpool squad for the game against Inter Milan.

Salah delivered an extraordinary interview following Saturday's draw with Leeds, having been left on the bench by Arne Slot. The Egyptian claimed his relationship with the Reds boss had broken down and he felt he had been thrown under the bus by the club.

Liverpool responded by leaving Salah out of the trip to Milan, before Slot discussed the situation when he faced the media in Italy on Monday. Jamie Carragher also let rip at Salah over his conduct on Monday Night Football.

With his teammates in Italy, Salah took to Instagram to post an image of himself in the gym alone at Liverpool's training ground.

The post spoke volumes of his situation at Anfield, with many feeling the Reds legend may have played his last game for the club.

Slot admitted he 'had no clue' if that would be the case, but told the media in his pre-match press conference: "I am a firm believer that there is always a possibility to return for a player.

"When I don’t play someone usually players don’t like the manager that much but he was really respectful to the staff and manager, his teammates and he trained very hard so it was a surprise to me when I heard the comments he gave.

But it is not the first or last time a player who doesn’t play says something similar to what he did. But my reaction to that is clear and that’s why he is not here tonight.”
