Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo has intensified trade speculation after wiping all Bucks-related posts from his social media, only leaving their 2021 championship remaining. On a recent NBA on Prime broadcast, insider Chris Haynes provided the latest updates on Antetokounmpo amid the ongoing chatter surrounding his potential move.
Chris Haynes on Giannis deleting stuff from his social media:
"He did that around 3 or 4 weeks ago. He referred to an interview that he saw from Michael B. Jordan and Denzel Washington" pic.twitter.com/LoExivqLLr

Haynes reported that Giannis Antetokounmpo told him the social media purge was not a reaction to the Bucks’ struggles. He had removed much of his content, including family photos and videos, several weeks earlier, feeling that he was sharing too much of himself online.
“He said right now what’s most important in his life is confidentiality and privacy. And he referred to an interview that he saw from Michael B. Jordan and Denzel Washington,” said the NBA insider.

“And in that interview, he said Denzel told Michael B. Jordan that, ‘What is stopping the masses from going to your show? And when they go to your show, are they going to come in droves? Because I can make the case that they already see your social media and so you’re already visible, so why would they go to your shows in droves?’”
“He said he looked at it from that standpoint. He said, ‘You know what? I’m deleting all my social media stuff. I’m only leaving a couple championship photos out there. If people want to see me, come to the games and I’ll give you all of me and showcase what I can do.’” Haynes continued.

Antetokounmpo is currently sidelined with a right calf strain suffered last week and is expected to miss approximately two to four weeks, according to Milwaukee head coach Doc Rivers.
Before the injury, Antetokounmpo was performing like his usual MVP self, putting up 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists per game while shooting a career-high 63.9% from the field and 43.5% from three-point range. Even with those numbers, the Bucks struggled, holding a 10-15 record and sitting 10th in the Eastern Conference.
The Bucks will get back on the court Thursday when they face the 15 – 9 Boston Celtics.
