Harrison Armstrong would be open to spending the rest of the season on loan at Preston North End as rumours continue over a possible Everton recall. The 18-year-old joined Preston on the final day of the summer transfer window and has since forced his way into contention at Deepdale.
At the weekend, he scored his first goal for the club and is currently a regular starter under manager Paul Heckingbottom.
There has been speculation about his immediate future, with Everton short of options in central midfield. Blues boss David Moyes was recently asked whether Armstrong could be brought back in January, but he declined to give a definitive answer.

After scoring in the 1-1 draw with Wrexham, Armstrong was asked about the possibility of returning to Everton.
“Well, I think it's out of my hands,” he told the Lancashire Post. “Whatever decision is made, I just hope it's the best for my development.
"I'd love to stay here and contribute to a season.
“Hopefully we can get in and amongst the play-offs, but like I said, I'm just leaving it to the hands of the people who control it and getting on with my football.”
Everton currently have Merlin Rohl sidelined with injury, while Idrissa Gueye is set to miss a chunk of the festive period when he joins Senegal for the Africa Cup of Nations next week.
Gueye has also been suspended for the last three games. While Everton struggled without him in the 4-1 loss to Newcastle United, the likes of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, James Garner, Tim Iroegbunam and Carlos Alcaraz all impressed in victories over AFC Bournemouth and Newcastle United.
Their performances may leave Moyes considering whether Everton can cope without Armstrong for the remainder of the campaign. The youngster admitted he still has plenty of developing to do.
“I think there's plenty more to improve on,” Armstrong said. “I'm definitely not the complete player who has everything.
|"There are areas I can get better in, and there are things I want to improve. It’s a tough league, with some really good players I'm coming up against each week, and it's a good way to test myself.”
“I just want to play at the top level where I'm getting tested. If the time comes at the end of the season where I'm at that level and ready for it, I don't see why not. I want to push myself, maximise my ability and hopefully one day say that I'm a regular in the Premier League.”
