The defender has decided to make the trip “to get closer to his beliefs and find the emotional stability he seeks in order to return,” according to ESPN.
Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Araujo will head to Jerusalem where he will seek “spiritual guidance” during what is a difficult time for the defender.
Araujo’s visit will be a “short stay” which is “designed to disconnect, do some sightseeing and find a space of calm,” according to Diario Sport.
Barcelona are said to be fully supportive of Araujo’s trip and are hoping it can help him psychologically after he decided to take time away from the game after his red card against Chelsea in the Champions League.
