Nottingham Forest defender Murillo is open to a change of scene next summer as he continues to attract interest from Europe’s top clubs.

The Brazilian has been one of Forest’s best transfers of recent years, establishing himself as one of the best young centre-backs in the game after moving to England from Corinthians for about £10million in August 2023.

Murillo was a mainstay of the Forest side who last season qualified for European football for the first time this century and signed a new four-and-half-year deal in January 2025 which pushed him further up the pay scale at the City Ground.

During his time at Forest, he also broke into the senior Brazil squad for the first time.

Though Murillo and his family are settled in Nottingham, his performances have kept him on the radar of the continent’s elite.

Chelsea have long admired the 23-year-old, while Real Madrid have kept a close eye on him, too.

Daily Mail Sport revealed last month that Forest were determined to ignore all offers for star midfielder Elliot Anderson during the January transfer window, and the same is likely to apply to Murillo.

If either player leaves the club, the fee is likely to be far higher than the current record sale – Anthony Elanga’s £55m switch to Newcastle last summer.

After two defeats in their last three league matches, Sean Dyche’s men take on Utrecht in the Europa League on Thursday.

The Forest boss is expected to make significant changes to his starting XI, with one eye on the home match against Tottenham on Sunday.
