How much Everton's old club shop is being sold for as auction date set for Goodison Road relic

Everton’s farewell to Goodison Park back in May sent more than a few of the fanbase into tears, waving goodbye after a 133-year relationship with the L4 behemoth.

Everton’s decision to move away from the Grand Old Lady to their new, dockside Hill Dickinson Stadium appears to be the right move for the club in the long-run.

Goodison Park will always go down in history as one of British football’s best-ever grounds, steeped in tradition and history, with FA Cup ties, European nights and famous Premier League wins galore in its catalogue, even down to the final farewell in May against Southampton.

But the move means that slowly but surely, life is being phased out of Walton and that now includes the club’s famous ‘Everton One’ club shop.

Everton’s Goodison Park club shop has been listed for auction

Everton Women continue to play at Goodison Park this season, meaning that all life is not lost at the famous Merseyside monument just yet.

But one famous part of its history just down the road from the Main Stand is set to vanish, with the club’s ‘Everton One’ being up for auction.

Per Rightmove, the guide price for the famous store is £750,000, being listed as a ‘prominent modern two storey former superstore, now considered suitable for a variety of uses’.

However, any fans wishing to make a dash for the famous building will have to move quickly. The online auction is being held on both Tuesday and Wednesday, 9th-10th December.

It’s sad to see certain pieces of Goodison Park history being sold off, with the famous Winslow Hotel – located just down the road – closing its doors as a result of fans congregating closer to the River Mersey by the new stadium.

Everton Two will long remain in the memory of Scouse folklore

Everton opened up their second club store in the city centre, labelled ‘Everton Two’, a play on the club’s original store in Walton being called ‘Everton One’.

However, fans were quick to notice that the second club shop being called Everton Two had much more meaning.

The shopping centre in which is it located is called Liverpool One – meaning that, on the address, it reads ‘Everton Two, Liverpool One’ – a funny dig at the Toffees’ local Anfield rivals.

It’s so far uncertain what the remaining shop will be called, with the current store at the Hill Dickinson Stadium being called ‘Everton Official Store’, but you’d like to think it would remain the same to remind Liverpool fans who the People’s Club actually is.

The Hill Dickinson Stadium is still undergoing some issues in terms of fan logistics and with fans sharing memories of Goodison, this will only heighten the nostalgia.
