The Stadio di Bergamo hosts tonight’s Champions League match between Atalanta and Chelsea
Champions League football is back on the menu as Chelsea face Atalanta for the first time ever. Both sides go into tonight's clash with the same record after five games of this season's league phase, though the Premier League giants are one place above the Serie A side in the 36-team table by virtue of a superior goal difference.
Enzo Maresca's side, however, are yet to win away from home in Europe so far and are without a win anywhere since beating Barcelona a fortnight ago. Cole Palmer has not travelled to Bergamo as the Blues manage his minutes after injury, but Moises Caicedo is available for selection as his suspension can only be served domestically.
La Dea, meanwhile, have bounced back impressively since losing 4-0 to holders PSG on matchday one, and will be aiming to boost their chances of what would be a surprise top eight finish and automatic qualification for the round of 16. Kamaldeen Sulemana (muscle) and Mitchel Bakker (ACL) remain sidelined.
Chelsea team news: Caicedo cleared to play
Cole Palmer missed training on Monday and has not made the trip to Italy as his return is carefully managed following groin and toe injuries. He is expected to play against Everton at the weekend.
Liam Delap was forced off against Bournemouth with a shoulder injury and is facing another spell out, while Romeo Lavia is also still sidelined along with Dario Essugo and Levi Colwill. Reece James and Wesley Fofana are available.
Moises Caicedo is free to play as his suspension only relates to domestic action.
