Liverpool boss Arne Slot has the opportunity to bolster his squad when the January transfer window opens up for business
Liverpool delved into the summer market to sign the likes of Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, among others. They were busy on the recruitment front in the last transfer window ahead of this season. The Reds won the Premier League title in the last campaign.
However, it has been a tough start to this term under Arne Slot and pressure is growing on the Dutchman. His side are sat in 10th place in the table after their first 15 fixtures. They drew 3-3 away at Leeds United last time out in the league.
Liverpool linked with Juventus star Kenan Yildiz
Yildiz, 20, is a Turkey international with 26 caps under his belt. He has been on the books of his current club since joining the back in 2022. The forward has made 103 appearances for them in all competitions and has scored 22 goals, six of which have come this term.
The Germany-born man started his career with spells at Sallern Regensburg and Jahn Regensburg. He was snapped up by Bayern Munich as a youngster in 2012 and spent 10 years with the German giants. The prospect rose up through the academy at the Allianz Arena and was a regular at various different youth levels before heading out the exit door to Italy.
Would Besiktas ace Kenan Yildiz suit Liverpool?
Former Juventus boss Igor Tudor had this to say about Yildiz earlier this year: “I was talking to them (the players) the other day and I noticed that I never say anything to Yildiz in front of others, because he always does what he’s supposed to do. We rarely say anything to him, whether it’s about his playing style of behaviour. The different is that inner motivation you have to get there and do what you do, which has to be there every day. Yildiz is proving that he does that, and I hope he continues every day. He has all the attributes to become a truly top player.”
Liverpool have underperformed massively over recent times and Slot has found it hard to find the right formula with his starting XI. The Reds have fallen way behind the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Aston Villa in the league and need to hit form soon. It has taken a while for all their recruits from the summer to gel together and that has proved to be frustrating for everyone involved.
