Opinion: Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's Everton form made even sweeter as Chelsea share double injury…

Everton travel to Chelsea at the weekend where Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall will be looking to make a statement against his former side.

Months on from leaving the London side, Dewsbury-Hall has recaptured his best form on Merseyside under David Moyes.

Everton head into the game on the back of four victories from their last five, which Dewsbury-Hall has played a key role in.

Former Premier League striker Troy Deeney has named Dewsbury-Hall signing of the season on the back of his performances for the Blues.

Playing regular football, the 27-year-old is finally looking back to his absolute best heading into the game against his former employer.

Everton’s Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is showing Chelsea what they’re missing

After the three points on Saturday, Moyes name-dropped Chelsea in praising Dewsbury-Hall, who is showing huge improvements.

The 27-year-old is now the joint-top goalscorer for the Blues this season in the Premier League.

And he will be looking to show the Londoners just what they lost when they decided to offload him over the summer.

The midfielder is in the goalscoring form of his career on Merseyside, which will be needed again this weekend.

Over the last three games, Chelsea have shown they are a side that can be beaten, with zero wins from their last three outings.

Dewsbury-Hall has dropped to a deeper midfield role, but this has not stunted his ability to find the back of the net.

Chelsea have only scored two goals in their last three games, which is exactly the same as the Everton midfielder has returned for the Blues.

Chelsea’s injury issues only highlight Dewsbury-Hall mistake

Whether Chelsea made the wrong decision to sell Dewsbury-Hall can be debated, but his return to form shows something much greater.

Through playing regular football, it would seem clear that Chelsea were unable to get the best out of the midfielder due to his inconsistent minutes.

Some Everton fans thinking Dewsbury-Hall is captain material, which goes to show just how big of an impact he has had on Merseyside.

Ahead of the game this weekend, Enzo Maresca has shared doubts over Cole Palmer’s fitness as he manages his minutes following his injury issues.

“Liam [Delap] is fortunately not any fracture and Cole, it’s part of the process at the moment. He can’t play two games in three days. It’s a way to protect him,” said Maresca.

Dewsbury-Hall could have been the perfect player to replace the England international had he been offered the opportunity.
