FPL managers will have five free transfers heading into game week 16, because the Africa Cup of Nations starts later this month.
Many FPL managers will be disappointed with their results over the weekend, as the average score was under 50, and big players such as Bukayo Saka, Erling Haaland, and Antoine Semenyo failed to deliver big scores.

However, managers with the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Ruben Dias and Xavi Simons will have had an impressive week, with all four players returning at least 14 points for game week 15.
FPL is different this season, as AFCON begins later this month, meaning that the likes of Mo Salah, Iliman Ndiaye and Bryan Mbeumo won’t be available for FPL players. Managers get five free transfers ahead of game week 16, and this is how you should use them.
Firstly, don’t use them all this week, as injuries can occur, so it would be wise to keep a couple in the bank for next week. So, let’s say you should use three free transfers this week, here are three players you should consider bringing in…
Phil Foden, Manchester City – £8.6m
Yet again, Foden has had a fantastic week. He has scored five goals in his last three Premier League games for Man City, and looks to be a focal point of Pep Guardiola’s side.
Foden is owned by 26.2% of FPL managers, that number should be well above 50%, as the Man City star is quickly becoming a must-have in midfield.
Transfer the Man City star in despite his rising price. If you need someone to sell, Saka could be a good way of freeing up some funds for Foden as the Arsenal star is £10m.
Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United – £9m
Looking at the other side of Manchester, Fernandes is ticking over every week, and produces points both with attacking returns and defensive contributions.
The Man United captain managed 18 FPL points against Wolves, and has Bournemouth in the next game week. Furthermore, with Mbeumo leaving for AFCON, Fernandes could get more of an attacking role in Ruben Amorim’s starting XI.
Declan Rice, Arsenal – £7m
Rice is the bargain that nobody is talking about. He is the highest-scoring FPL midfielder this season…and he is just £7m.
If you want an Arsenal midfielder (you should), get in Rice rather than Saka, as Rice has been consistent with both attacking returns and defensive contributions. Plus, he is cheaper, so could free up room to also bring in the likes of Foden and Fernandes. Oh, and Arsenal play Wolves next…
