No return date set for injured Real Madrid defensive starlet – report

Dean Huijsen’s absence has been noticeable for Real Madrid, for the team has struggled in recent games, even more so with injury issues mounting for the team.

The 20-year-old centre-back suffered a knock late in the draw against Elche. While the issue was understood to be nothing serious, the player has now gone on to miss four matches and will be out against Manchester City as well.

No return date for Huijsen

Now, according to AS, there is still no return date set for Huijsen as he is now set to miss a fifth game in a row.

The Spain international has now been out for fifteen days and although it may seem like only a short spell, it has meant four matches without the defender for Real Madrid. With Manchester City’s visit this Wednesday, it will be five.

There has been no public medical report for an issue in his left knee, which he suffered in the final action of the draw at the Martínez Valero. At first, the problem was described as minor, but the matches without one of Real Madrid’s summer signings continue to accumulate.

Huijsen has not been in the squad for matches against Olympiacos, Girona, Athletic Club, and Celta Vigo.

His durability is becoming a subject of debate. At Real Madrid he has had two injuries so far (the first ruled him out of the win vs Juventus and the defeat at Getafe).

Real Madrid, however, have no doubts about the 20-year-old defender and are fully focused on getting him back to 100% fitness. They see him as a key piece of the project for the present and the future.
