Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall shares the 'lifelong dream' he wants to achieve whilst at Everton

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has turned out to be one of the signings of the summer as he made it three goals in four games for Everton at the weekend.

At a time when David Moyes has needed some of his more senior players to step up, Dewsbury-Hall has been there.

The 27-year-old has set a shining example in Everton’s starting XI this season even as his role has been modified over recent weeks.

Dewsbury-Hall has enjoyed playing a deeper midfield role amid the absence of Idrissa Gana Gueye due to suspension.

It has been a huge boost for the 62-year-old Everton manager to have Dewsbury-Hall available to interchange in different roles across the side.

Troy Deeney has hailed Dewsbury-Hall on the back of his recent showings, but the summer signing still feels he has a lot more to achieve this season.

Dewsbury-Hall has shown his leadership skills with Thierno Barry after showing the struggling striker some love on the back of his first goal for the club.

The midfielder has quickly become the focal point of Moyes’ starting XI, with his recent performances putting him back on the map in the Premier League.

“I feel English. I want to give myself a chance of playing for England, which is a lifelong dream, and I feel like now there’s a great opportunity in terms of playing for a massive club that’s on the up, hopefully playing regular football,” said the 27-year-old.

“Then it’s just down to me. I still believe I can do it.”

He is not alone at Everton in dreaming of that World Cup phone call.

After the recent win over Manchester United, Thomas Tuchel was spotted speaking to James Garner and Jack Grealish in the tunnel.

On the back of his recent goals, Dewsbury-Hall will have to be on the German’s radar.

Seamus Coleman spoke to Dewsbury-Hall about Ireland switch

There had been some speculation in recent weeks of Ireland potentially looking into the possibility of Dewsbury-Hall making the switch to represent them.

Jake O’Brien and Seamus Coleman are already two Everton players who are representing Ireland, who are playing for a spot at the World Cup.

Dewsbury-Hall has waxed lyrical about Coleman in the same interview, where he has also admitted the 37-year-old has privately spoken to him about representing his national side.

“We’ve spoken about [playing for the Republic of Ireland]. We had a bit of a laugh with it but I told him where my head is at,” said Dewsbury-Hall.

“He’s the sort of guy to respect your decision and say, ‘Go on, I trust that whatever you want to do is for a good reason and you’re going to go all-in to get it’.”

If he keeps up this current run of form, there is no reason why Dewsbury-Hall should not be in Tuchel’s thinking.
