Reading manager Leam Richardson believes his side lost their home game to Peterborough United on Tuesday in the first three minutes.
That’s how long it took Jimmy-Jay Morgan to nudge Posh ahead and, although the hosts equalised just past the hour mark, they were level for just eight minutes before Harry Leonard struck a superb winning goal.
Posh remain in the bottom four, but they are within a point of Exeter City and just three points behind Reading, Burton Albion, Doncaster Rovers and Mansfield Town.
Richardson said: “First and foremost, you have to be gracious. We win together, we lose together, and congratulations to Peterborough.

“My initial thoughts are that I’m very disappointed, to say the least, in how we started the game. In my opinion, we lost the game in the first few minutes. We were at home and we wanted to start fast. We wanted to take the impetus and build on our away win last time out.
“If you want to go for promotion, you have to back up an away win with a home win. We had an opportunity to do that tonight. It sounds simple on paper but that was the challenge.
“We were ahead in the stats. On everything: with chances, shots, touches in their box, final-third entries.
“But we lost out on the one that counts and which everyone points the finger at straightaway. I thought that we got emotionally attached to the game in the second half, perhaps doing the wrong things for the right reasons – chasing the game a little bit.
“But we’ll get better as we evolve.”
It was a first defeat in six League One games for Reading and a first at home under Richardson.
