Giannis Antetokounmpo’s possible landing spot emerges if Knicks fail to acquire Bucks superstar …

When it comes to Giannis Antetokounmpo, there is clearly no shortage of topics and rumors to go over. The two-time NBA Most Valuable Player remains part of the Milwaukee Bucks, butrecent rumors suggest that he and his side are looking for a way out of Cream City via a trade.

Trade rumors involving the “Greek Freak”come and go, and it looks like it’s en vogue again, as the Bucks struggle to win games, and with Antetokounmpo currently sidelined by a lower-body injury.

The New York Knicks seem to still be the top candidate to land Antetokounmpo via a stunning trade, but another Eastern Conference club appears to have entered the picture, with Sam Amick of The Athletic mentioning the Miami Heat as a potential contender for Antetokounmpo due to the franchise’s fit with the superstar power forward (h/tCooper Albers of the New York Post)

“If the Knicks thing is too hard to execute,” Amick said during a Tuesday appearance on FanDuel’s “Run It Back” show, “maybe [Giannis] looks at Miami and tries to make that work.”

Amick noted Miami’s “culture” and “appetite” to go after big names are reasons to believe that the Heat would go all in on a possible pursuit for Antetokounmpo.

Theoretically speaking, every basketball team on earth would want someone like Antetokounmpo to be on their team. He is still very much at the top of his game with many more prime years in front of him, even though he just turned 31 years old earlier this December.

But trading for Antetokounmpo is still going to be easier said than done, given his contract and the technicalities involved in unloading such a big asset via a trade. That’s not to mention his level of desire to sign an extension with whichever team he might end up getting traded to.

Antetokounmpo is due to earn$58.456 million in salary in the 2026-27 season, which could be his last with the Bucks if he doesn’t pick up his player option for the 2027-28 season worth $62.786 million.
