'He told me...' - Sturridge reveals what Salah has told him about his future after Inter v…

Daniel Sturridge revealed what Mo Salah has told him about his Liverpool future after the Reds' Champions League clash against Inter Milan on Tuesday evening.

The Egyptian forward, frustrated after being an unused substitute against Leeds United on the weekend, gave a sensational post-match interview where he said he had 'no relationship' with Arne Slot and accused someone at the club of throwing him under the bus.

His comments immediately went viral and it was eventually decided that he would stay in Merseyside and not travel to Milan for the club's Champions League clash against Inter.

Despite being without the 33-year-old, Liverpool were able to pick up a much-needed win in Italy as Dominik Szoboszlai's 88th minute penalty gave the Premier League outfit all three points.

Daniel Sturridge Sheds Light on Mo Salah's Feelings

Mo Salah and Daniel Sturridge

Sturridge played alongside Salah at Liverpool for two years between 2017-2019. The Englishman was covering the match at the San Siro as a pundit for Amazon Prime Video and ahead of kick-off he said his former teammate's comments were 'terrible' and 'poor', but did sympathise with his situation.

After the game, Sturridge shed more light on Salah's feelings and revealed what the Egyptian has told him about his future.

He said, per the Liverpool Echo: "He is going to be watching at home wishing he was here. Wishing he could have helped the team.

"In the moment there is a level of reflection, because it is so raw now and it is so fresh it is hard to reflect on the situation. We are in it. We have all been through ups and downs.

"I think for Mo right now, I think he wants to help the team get back to where they have been witch was at the top. I think watching what's happened you want to be part of it. You're at home, you're sat there.

"This goes for players who are injured and players who are in this situation the last thing you want to do is not be part of it. I think that is of course going to be hurting him because he knows.

"He loves playing for this club, I know this. Mo has told me 'I love this football club. I don't want to leave this club. This is where I want to be'. He wants to be a Liverpool player but he wants to play.

"I think they will have a conversation. I can't speak for Mo and what he is going to do, I don't know how he is going to feel but I think there needs to be another conversation between the manager and Mohamed Salah."

What Next For Salah and Liverpool

Mohamed Salah

Ahead of the match against Inter Milan, Salah took to social media to post an image of himself in the gym as he does his utmost best to keep himself in tip-top condition.

The Reds are next in action on Saturday afternoon when they welcome Brighton to Anfield for their Premier League clash. It is unknown whether Salah will play any part.

If he does play, it could well be his last outing in a Liverpool shirt. Salah will meet up with Egypt for their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after the match and he could have completed a move away from the club by the time he is due to arrive back on Merseyside.
