15-year-old Max Dowman has already shone in performances for Arsenal’s first team.
Heaven shone in the Wolves game, and so should get more and more minutes, but who could be next for Man United? They could look at even younger talents; look at Arsenal, and what they have done with Max Dowman.
The 15-year-old has already made five first-team appearances for Arsenal, including one in the Champions League and two in the Premier League. He has shown himself to be an incredible talent and certainly a future England star. But, Man United may have a Dowman of their own, who could be about to break out.
JJ Gabriel shines for Man United in FA Youth Cup
JJ Gabriel is a 15-year-old English attacker who plays in the Man United U18s, and he is really beginning to make a name for himself. Gabriel has made 11 appearances in the Under-18s Premier League, and he’s managed to score an impressive 10 goals in those 11 matches. He is playing three years above his age level.
He also recently broke a Man United record that was set by Duncan Edwards and Eddie Colman, who were part of the Busby Babes in the 1950s. Gabriel is the youngest Man United player to be playing in the FA Youth Cup, aged 15 years and two months - he hasn’t even done his GCSEs yet.
Gabriel has had royalty-like treatment at Man United, as they clearly know what they have in the Englishman. They have allowed him into the Director’s Box when United play, and even let him meet Sir Alex Ferguson during the West Ham game earlier in December.
Gabriel is a youngster in-demand
The 15-year-old is well known at Man United for being one of their future stars, and has been for several years now. He has risen up the ranks in the youth teams, and managed to commit his short-term future to Man United earlier in the year, as persuaded by Director of Football Jason Wilcox.
However, according to BBC Sport, Gabriel is known by several other big clubs too, many of whom would love to take him off United’s hands and snap him up before he’s ready to take the step into first-team football.
It is understood that Barcelona are big admirers of Gabriel, and despite the 15-year-old committing his future to Carrington, the links with the La Liga giants remain as Gabriel continues to deliver at the highest level.
The 2010-born talent could well be Man United’s answer to Max Dowman, and with the likes of Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo leaving for AFCON, who is to say he couldn’t get a shot in the first team during an FA Cup game or something similar? If Amorim wanted to rotate, the option is certainly there.
