FC Barcelona have not made any major moves in recent transfer windows. Although players like Dani Olmo and Joan Garcia have arrived, their dealings have paled in comparison with some of Europe’s top clubs.
January has not generally been a month in which the Catalan club does much business. However, if FFP permits, Barcelona would not be against using the winter window to exploit a market opportunity.
According to Fichajes, Barcelona have set their sights on Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, who has had a controversial few weeks at Anfield. The Merseyside legend was benched for three successive Premier League games by Arne Slot.

The Egyptian did not take kindly to the snub, speaking to the media and calling for more respect. This subsequently prompted Slot to leave Salah entirely out of the matchday squad for the trip to Itely for the Inter Milan clash, despite two wingers missing through injury and illness.
It does feel like the end of the road for Salah in a Liverpool shirt, and a move to Barcelona could allow Hansi Flick to start the Egyptian on the right and use Lamine Yamal centrally, where he looks very effective.
That said, the last thing Barcelona need now is a disruptive figure or an ego-driven big name in the dressing room, undoing the good work Hansi Flick has put in. Let us wait and see whether there is any truth to these rumours and what the future holds for Liverpool and Salah.
