Mbappe in squad to face Man City despite injury reports

Real Madrid have included Kylian Mbappe in their squad to face Manchester City on Wednesday, despite the France forward having been a doubt for the Champions League game.

The 26-year-old was absent from the Spanish club's open training session on Tuesday, with reports in Spain stating that he had a fractured finger.

Mbappe is also reportedly struggling with a knee issue, but his availability would be a major help to head coach Xabi Alonso, whose future at the club has been questioned following one win in the past five La Liga games.

BBC Sport's Guillem Balague has said that Alonso's chances of survival are "slim" and defeat against City at the Bernabeu on Wednesday (20:00 GMT) could spell the end of his tenure, which only began in the summer.

Mbappe has scored 25 goals across La Liga and the Champions League this season but failed to find the net as Real Madrid were beaten at home by Celta Vigo on Sunday.
