Liverpool can afford to keep Mohamed Salah and sign Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo in the January transfer window.
That is according to football finance expert Dr Dan Plumley who has stated that Liverpool’s strong financial position means they can afford to spend again in January.
Semenyo has a £65million release clause in his contract, and Liverpool are one club pursuing the winger ahead of a January move.
Salah’s public outburst towards manager Arne Slot means his future is increasingly in doubt at Anfield, but a change in coach could change the 33-year-old’s fortunes at the club.

Liverpool ‘financially dominant’ ahead of transfer window
Slot has been under pressure at Liverpool in recent weeks, and speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Plumley states that their financial position means they do not have to sell Salah in January, if they want to sign Semenyo.
“Well, I mean, with the Semenyo thing, just firstly, even despite the money that they spent in the summer and people will talk about that, you know, nearly half £1bn, they could still afford to sign Semenyo in January and keep Mo Salah,” Plumley said.
“It’s not a kind of, it’s not something that has to happen to trigger another event.

“So there’s that side of it as well. They’re one of the most dominant clubs financially in English football at the minute, so the money side of Semenyo is not a problem for Liverpool.”

Transfer battle for Antoine Semenyo
Man City and Arsenal are also pursuing Semenyo alongside Liverpool, as a transfer battle may emerge for the 25-year-olds signature.
Semenyo signed a new Bournemouth contract in the summer amid a pursuit from Tottenham, which runs until 2030.
The winger has six goals and three assists in 14 Premier League appearances this season, with Bournemouth currently 13th in the table.
