REPORT: Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool&Man City‘Battle’To Sign Bundesliga Hat-Trick Hero

Chelsea are amongst a group of Premier League clubs who are interested in signing RB Leipzig striker Yan Diomande.

The Blues will be very disappointed as they just lost to Atalanta in the Champions League, which has damaged their chance of finishing in the top eight of the league phase of the competition.

Manager Enzo Maresca will be desperate to get back to winning ways against Everton at the weekend and boost their confidence heading into the busy Christmas period. However, after that, Chelsea will be focusing on the transfer window to potentially look to bring in a new attacker.

Spanish outlet Fichajes is reporting that Chelsea wants to sign RB Leipzig striker Yan Diomande in the January transfer window. The Ivory Coast national has scored six goals in 13 games in the Bundesliga this season, including a hat-trick against Frankfurt over the weekend.

The same report says that Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City are also keen to sign Diomande in January, sparking a transfer battle for the 19-year-old. There is no price listed for the striker, but he has an estimated market value of around £20m.

Diomande could help replace Delap at Chelsea

Chelsea are in need of more striker depth at the moment, as Joao Pedro isn’t an out-and-out striker, and Liam Delap recently suffered his second injury of the season, which is set to see him miss an extended period of time.

The Blues could do with a striker in January, and so Diomande could be ideal. For one, he could replace the injured Delap, but also, seeing as he is young and promising, he could come in and develop into a future star.

Furthermore, a striker from the Ivory Coast, who is quick, powerful, and a menace in front of goal? Could we see the second-coming of Didier Drogba, one of the best strikers ever to grace the grass at Stamford Bridge.
