Brugge vs Arsenal conmposite preview
Club Brugge host Arsenal in the Champions League tonight
Arsenal’s sixth game in 17 days brings them to the Jan Breydel Stadium and a Champions League showdown with Club Brugge. The Gunners have arrived in Belgium with a place in the knockout phase already secured but are hoping to bounce back from last weekend's loss to Aston Villa by maintaining their 100 per cent winning record in Europe so far this season.
Mikel Arteta has suffered a triple blow ahead of kick-off with Declan Rice, William Saliba and Leandro Trossard all ruled out, thus joining Gabriel, Kai Havertz and Cristhian Mosquera on the sidelines. That said, Gabriel Jesus is in line to make his first appearance since January after replacing Max Dowman in Arsenal’s Champions League squad.
For the hosts, meanwhile, it’s all change as Ivan Leko has replaced Nicky Hayen as head coach and his first task is to oversee a result against the Premier League leaders to boost the Belgian side’s hopes of early elimination from the Champions League. Arsenal team news: No Rice
Arsenal are set to be without SIX senior players tonight as Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard have joined William Saliba, Gabriel, Kai Havertz and Cristhian Mosquera on the sidelines.
Youngster Max Dowman will not feature in Bruges after picking up an ankle injury in a friendly against Manchester United last weekend.
Dowman has since been replaced in Arsenal's Champions League squad by Gabriel Jesus and the Brazilian could make his comeback after 11 months out with a knee injury.
