Mohamed Salah could end up staying at Liverpool despite his recent comments, even with Arne Slot still in the dugout.
It emerged over the weekend that Slot is supported by the Reds owners, and Salah’s stance on the Dutchman will not change that.
For a while, it looked as though the Egyptian’s situation had become untenable at Anfield.

If that does happen, however, there is one clear issue Slot will have to contend with.
Jurgen Klopp says Mohamed Salah must play for Liverpool
Jurgen Klopp enjoyed much success as Reds manager, with Salah as his star man.
There were only a couple of occasions when the winger did not start under Klopp, but he is more than familiar with how the player handles such snubs.
MORE LIVERPOOL STORIES
Slot is getting the full wrath of Salah and his team right now, and Klopp, speaking in a piece from BBC Sport released on December 10, has summed up why the 33-year-old needs to play all the time.
He said: “We pushed each other, just to make sure that we would never stop. And we never did stop. That moment lifting the Premier League bonded us for life. He will be remembered as one of the greatest of all time.
“I wouldn’t say he is easy to manage, but he is also not difficult to manage. You [only] have problems with Mo Salah if he is not playing or you take him off.”
Klopp is obviously correct in his assessment, given the events that have unfolded since Salah was dropped for three league games in a row.
But how does Slot deal with that moving forward? While the club are aiming to keep the two-time Premier League winner for the rest of his contract, there will come a point in the future when he is out of the team again.
How he will react on that occasion remains to be seen, but it’s unlikely to be in a positive way based on what Klopp has said about his ex-player.
Luis Diaz verdict on Mohamed Salah
In the same piece, former Liverpool man Luis Diaz has shared an insight into Salah’s character.
Diaz said: “He was one of the first people to welcome me, and did so in such an incredible way.
“He came over to me and said: ‘if you ever need my help, I’m here for you.’ I remember him telling me on the pitch: ‘Let’s try this… let’s make this move so that it works.’ And then it would work in the match.”

By all accounts, Salah’s Liverpool teammates remain keen to continue playing with him despite the outburst. Let’s just hope the situation can now blow over in the next week, and we don’t have a repeat of this drama when the summer transfer window is approaching.
