Leeds United player spotted celebrating Liverpool goal like a fan in must-see footage

Leeds United capped off an incredible end to last week at Elland Road with a fightback from two goals down to heap turmoil on Liverpool.

United’s hopes of staying in the Premier League under Daniel Farke weren’t helped by a brutal start to the festive period. Three games in the span of seven days against three Premier League greats had the German up against it.

What transpired was three (two-and-a-half) remarkable displays to completely shift the narrative on Leeds’ boss and the side in general.

Spotted: Lucas Perri reaction to Leeds United leveller against Liverpool captured

An ideal boost for Leeds during the thrilling 3-3 draw with Liverpool was a much-needed good performance from goalkeeper Lucas Perri.

On top of struggling badly with his distribution lately, he’s also been called into question on his shot-stopping. However, a string of very good saves and solid commanding of his box helped United to their crucial draw.

He tipped Cody Gakpo’s effort around the post with the score at 2-0, shortly before Dominic Calvert-Lewin restored hope, before leaping across his goal to deny a goal-bound Virgil van Dijk header at 2-2.

The best moment for Perri, though, was seeing Anton Stach draw Leeds level with a well-worked goal. As the Germany international knee-slid towards the North-West corner, Perri dived towards our South Stand.

Footage of Anton Stach’s leveller panned to the Brazilian at the other end of the pitch, piling into a hug with one Leeds fan.

Leeds United connection holding strong amidst testing fixtures for Daniel Farke

I know Leeds fans won’t give much weight to what Gary Neville has to say. But, his reaction to the scenes after our draw against Liverpool summed it up.

He noted that the fans celebrating in unison with the players and Farke spoke volumes. Even if there’s been discontent about Farke and his coaching, the united feeling around the club remains.

That’s here to see with Perri going wild at our equaliser. We’re going to need that facet to flourish in the coming weeks in more crucial games.
