Jones makes Slot dressing room claim

**Curtis Jones insists Liverpool’s dressing room is fully behind Arne Slot.**

Slot’s position had been under fresh scrutiny after just one win in his side’s previous five Premier League outings that has virtually ended their title defence this season.

The situation became further exacerbated by [Mohamed Salah’s explosive post-match interview](https://www.clickliverpool.com/sport/liverpool-fc/62177-mohamed-salah-drops-liverpool-quit-bombshell-arne-slot/) in the wake of last Saturday’s 3-3 draw away to Leeds United.

Anfield chiefs took the decision to stand the Egypt international down for their Champions League trip to Inter Milan, which the visitors snatched in a late win.

But Jones revealed that the Reds’ dressing room remains firmly behind Slot despite the challenging start to the campaign coupled with Salah’s media broadside.

He said: “Are we behind the manager? We always are. We always are.

“He is human at the end of the day. If we get beat in games, it affects him, it affects us all too the same way it affects fans.

“He is a positive man, he always makes a change.

“The style of play has changed a bit. He is as hungry as ever, exactly the same with us.

“He is there with us and we are there with him as well.”

Further attempted clear-the-air talks are expected to be held between Slot and Salah later this week in the run-up to Saturday’s visit of Brighton & Hove Albion.

The talismanic forward claimed that the Anfield encounter was likely to be his last appearance for the club as he prepares to depart for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Jones has refuted any suggestions that the bombshell interview changed the atmosphere in the Liverpool dressing room ahead of their trip to the San Siro.

“Mo is his own man,” added the midfielder.

“I can’t really speak on another man and his business.

“Everyone knows how much of a legend that Mo is. I can’t really speak on it.

“The situation that he’s got, it’s not for me to say.”
