Makai Lemon, Bishop Fitzgerald named All-Americans by Pro Football Focus, The Athletic

USC wide receiver Makai Lemon and safety Bishop Fitzgerald have been named All-Americans by Pro Football Focus and The Athletic.

Lemon was one of two All-American wide receiver honorees by PFF along with Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith. Lemon and Smith were also The Athletic's first-team wide receiver picks.

PFF wrote of Lemon:

Lemon's 90.4 PFF grade leads all FBS wide receivers this season, while his 1,156 receiving yards were the most among Power Four wideouts. His 20 forced missed tackles tied for sixth among all wide receivers in the nation, and he caught 10 of his 15 contested targets despite only being 5-foot-11, 195 pounds.

Fitzgerald was one of two safety selections from PFF along with Toledo's Emmanuel McNeil-Warren. Fitzgerald was a second-team All-American pick by The Athletic.

PFF wrote of Fitzgerald:

Fitzgerald has been a ballhawk this year for the Trojans. He leads the Power Four with a 90.0 PFF grade, while his five interceptions are tied for fourth among all defensive players.

PFF also made its selections for college football's top awards and picked Lemon over Smith for the Biletnikoff Award, which goes out annually to the nation's top receiver.

USC will play in the Alamo Bowl on Dec. 30 in San Antonio against TCU. Lemon and Fitzgerald are both unlikely to play as they prepare for the NFL Draft.

Even if Fitzgerald wanted to play, he likely wouldn't have been available due to suffering a knee injury against Iowa that caused him to miss USC's last two games of the regular season.
