Premier League Manager Sack Race– December

It’s a sad fact of life in the Premier League – the culture of sacking managers is prevalent, as it always has been. Already in 2025/26, we have seen four head coaches lose their jobs.

Today, we’ll be looking at five Premier League managers who could be next on the chopping block, according to the bookies’ odds [via Oddschecker]. Who do you think is most at threat?

Ruben Amorim

Ruben Amorim’s position at Manchester United has looked precarious ever since he walked through the doors at Old Trafford for the first time. Despite a minor resurgence in their last few games, the former Sporting CP boss remains at risk. As things stand, he is 14/1 to be the next manager to be sacked.

There is the overwhelming feeling that one more bad run of results will cost Amorim his job. His system is now up and running at United, having integrated his players into it, but it still has issues. The Red Devils often look too defensive, causing them to drop silly points instead of killing games off.

Thomas Frank

A few weeks ago, Thomas Frank’s position looked secure – now, the Dane is absolutely at risk following a poor run of results and performances. Both BetVictor and William Hill are offering prices of 12/1 for him to be the next Premier League boss to get the boot.

This seems premature, given the fact that he only joined the Lilywhites in the summer. Nevertheless, with Tottenham currently in 11th place in the Premier League table, he will need to turn things around sooner, rather than later.

Daniel Farke

Daniel Farke was once the favourite to be the next Premier League manager to be sacked – since then, he has improved his station. Now, the Leeds United boss is the third-favourite to be fired with odds of 4/1.

Previously, Leeds were on a turgid run of form, losing game after game, but have picked up four points from their last two games. This may not sound too impressive – but bear in mind that their last two outings were against Chelsea and Liverpool, respectively.

Scott Parker

Burnley look like a doomed outfit at the moment. They have not won a Premier League game since October and have lost their last six league games – as such, this has put Scott Parker under increasing amounts of pressure.

The Clarets are 19th in the Premier League table and are five points from safety as things stand. Therefore, the bookmakers have Parker at 3/1 to be the next boss to get sacked – can he turn things around or will Burnley look elsewhere?

Arne Slot

You all saw this one coming. Life at Liverpool is turbulent at the moment – with Mohamed Salah complaining to the press and poor results mounting up, Arne Slot’s position at Liverpool grows ever more unclear.

The situation is currently volatile. The next few games will be crucial for Slot – if he cannot deliver results, the board may well side with Salah – which will result in his sacking. Currently, he is rated at 5/6 to be the next Premier League manager to get the sack.
