Jarell Quansah declined to comment on his relationship with Arne Slot, while the former Liverpool defender was “nothing but positive” on working with Mohamed Salah.
Now playing for Bayer Leverkusen after a £35 million move in the summer, Quansah was questioned on the situation around Slot and Salah during a press conference ahead of their 2-2 draw with Newcastle on Wednesday night.
“I can only speak on when I was there and what I saw from Mo,” he told reporters.
“A great role model, great character around the dressing room, obviously had an unbelievable season last season, helped us win the trophy.
“So from what I’ve seen, he’s nothing but positive. And how he’s helped me through tough times, he’s definitely done that.
“So I can’t speak from outside. At the moment I’m just a fan of Liverpool and like everyone else you don’t know exactly what’s going on behind the scenes.
“It’s definitely not for me to speculate – it’s probably your job [in the media] to do that.”

Quansah made 25 appearances in his only campaign under Slot at Liverpool, but only made three starts in the Premier League after being substituted at half-time on the first day of the season.
Two of those were when the title was already won, while his only starts in the Champions League also came after progress to the knockout stage had been confirmed.
Following his response on Salah, Quansah was questioned on his relationship with Slot with specific reference to his substitution at Ipswich and the comments over “losing too many duels.”
“Listen, it’s not about what it was last year and what was happening,” he replied.
“I’m totally focused on what I’m doing now to be honest.

“I don’t need to speak about my relationships with other managers; I’ve worked with many other managers, I don’t need to go into that.
“It’s about what I’m doing here at Leverkusen now and the task at hand [against Newcastle] is more important.”
Quansah made his 15th start of the season in Wednesday’s draw with Newcastle, playing the full 90 minutes for a fifth time from five games he has been available for in the Champions League.
While a key player for Leverkusen, Liverpool hold a buy-back clause for the 22-year-old which could see him return to Anfield for €60 million in 2027.
