A familiar refrain - Erling Haaland was on the scoresheet for Manchester City on Wednesday as they claimed a massive Champions League win at the Bernabeu.
City's old scourge Rodrygo had given Real Madrid the lead just before the half hour, but it would not take Nico O'Reilly long to equalise for the visitors.

When Haaland was dragged down by Antonio Rudiger just before half time, he would step up and convert clinically from the spot to secure City's first win at the Bernabeu in five years.
It was Haaland's 21st goal in 21 games this season, a simply extraordinary record for the Norwegian striker.
Naturally, CBS Sports were eager to speak to the City star post-match, and he was connected to the studio panel of Thierry Henry, Micah Richards and Jamie Carragher.

Like Haaland, Carragher has been in the news of late, but for very different reason.
Carragher's tirade against Liverpool star Mo Salah on Monday Night Football was the latest flashpoint in the fallout surrounding the Egyptian star in recent days. Carragher would rant on Salah's "disgraceful" behaviour for eight minutes on Sky Sports, in one of the most remarkable segments of football television of recent memory.
When Erling Haaland appeared on CBS Sports for his post-match interview on Wednesday, he went straight for 'Carra' with a superb dig.

When Haaland was connected to the studio via video link, his first line set the tone.
I'm getting nervous now when I see Jamie Carragher in the studio now!
The first jab was met with the now traditional raucous, boisterous din from the CBS pundits, with Carragher jokingly saying Haaland had no reason to be nervous.

Micah Richards would tee Haaland up for the final blow, asking the City star if he would rather Carragher or the man who had felled him for the penalty, Antonio Rudiger.
"Oof!" Haaland said through laughter.
I mean I think I need to say Rudiger now, because Carragher is a bit of a loose cannon now!
In fairness to Jamie Carragher, he took the slagging well, as Haaland, Thierry Henry, Micah Richards, and host Kate Abdo in stitches of laughter alongside him.
If Erling Haaland keeps up his astonishing goalscoring form, he will not have to fear any criticism from the likes of Carragher down the line.
Their win at the Bernabeu leaves Manchester City in 4th in the Champions League table, five points behind pace-setters Arsenal. Their final two league phase games will see them face Bodo/Glimt and Galatasaray.
